Astara Philippines has opened the second Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC) dealership in Mindanao. JMC Butuan is located at Samping’s Place, J.C. Aquino Avenue, Butuan City, and is operated by multibrand distributor Globalcars Inc.

JMC Butuan is the second dealership that the automaker has formally inaugurated since Astara Philippines relaunched the brand at the Manila International Auto Show last April.

“The launching of our second JMC Philippines showroom, just two days after our first one in Davao, shows the great interest and demand for this exciting brand,” said JMC Philippines Sales Director MJ del Pilar.

JMC Philippines offers two pickups that claim to offer value for money compared to competitors.

First is the Grand Avenue, which comes with leather upholstery, automatic climate control, power front seats, and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This pickup is available in 4×2 or 4×4 variants and is powered by a 2.3-liter, in-line-four turbodiesel 175hp and 450Nm. This powerplant can be mated to a six-speed manual or an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.

And then there’s the Vigus, which has a 2.5-liter, in-line-four turbodiesel engine producing 128hp and 315Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Available in either 4×2 or 4×4 configuration, the Vigus has also been engineered for hauling and towing heavy items, while providing reliable service and low running costs.
